#13 Experience Of An Entrepreneur!

Profession: Entrepreneurship

Experience: 2 months

Location: India,Mumbai

Basically, I am HR professional. But I always wanted to do something of own. I was happy with my job but I wasn’t satisfied. And that is what was bothering me my lack of job satisfaction. I always had a passion for doing something creative.

And my that creativity I started using in designing and decorating the house of my friends & relatives which fortunately turned out to be the best. My work started getting appreciated by all.And then I decided to make this as my profession.

Even though I am not from the designing background. The thought of getting into this business did not scare me. I quit my job a 9yrs long career of HR to pursue my dream, my passion.

But I wanted one partner with me. So I asked my friend Ms Anagha Shetty to join me as a Co-Founder Of Su CasA.

Now the reason for asking Anagha was only one. And it was the similar interest or passion towards interior designing & decorating. She was my colleague, so I knew that she is a very dedicated & loyal towards her work. And so she was my only choice to make a partner.

So after letting know her my plan to start a business. She agreed to it without having any second thought. This gave a boost to my confidence. Now we started with our plan. And the 1st step was to design our website.

As we had very limited funds from our savings. We had to do everything with lots of planning & plotting. So we started meeting contractors to build a team and hired interns to design our plans. And all this was happening without having a stable office.

We started working by sitting in a food court of a mall. And now was the day when we got our 1st contract in Pune. We started planning and designing for the project and were about to start a work for the same.

And we got our 2nd contract in Mumbai. It was a moment for celebration but we were busy into building the team & bifurcating them for both the projects accordingly. And we were successful in it. Our vision is to grow this company with a huge set up by the end of 2018. And we are working hard to achieve the same.

What are the hardships you have to face to put your idea into action?

Creating a trustworthy team and handling contractors. As working with corporate people to working with contractors was a bit tuff job to deal with.

How do you come with the name ‘ Su Casa’?

We were looking for such a name which should not be very familiar. So we started looking out for such names and then we found the Spanish word Su Casa Which means “Your House”. And we decided to finalize this name.

What are the required skills and qualities one must possess to enter into the business of Decor and design according to you?

The basic requirement is the one’s creativity. The person should b skilled in bringing his imagination into reality. Now if you ask about qualities then I would say the hardship & devotion towards his work. Because in this field what we need is the skill to work on details. The outcome should be excellent.

What are your suggestions for anyone who is willing to get out of their comfort zone to follow their dreams?

I will say just get out of the comfort zone and follow your dreams. You got one life to do this. Don’t waste by being lazy. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea to follow and achieve their dreams. To try and make yourself stand out of the crowd.

I feel this blog by proworkk.com is a  very good platform where people who have struggled to achieve something in their life can share their inspirational experience too. 1. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something that I think I
would never understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me.

I am looking forward for your next post,
I will try to get the hang of it!
