My journey as a civil engineer began with a passion for positively impacting society. I pursued my degree in civil engineering with a determination to make a difference. The Hard part I feel about this profession as per my experience till now:

Being a civil engineer is both rewarding and challenging. Throughout my 8 years of experience in the field, I’ve realised that the job demands constant adaptation to the ever-changing technological landscape. The construction industry has seen remarkable advancements in recent years, and as a civil engineer, staying up-to-date with the latest tools, software, and construction techniques is imperative.

One of the major challenges I face is the pressure to deliver results within strict deadlines. Civil construction projects often have tight schedules and unexpected hurdles can arise, causing delays. It requires meticulous planning, efficient project management, and effective communication with team members and stakeholders to keep everything on track.

Moreover, working on transportation engineering and highway engineering projects has exposed me to high levels of responsibility. Safety is paramount in these projects, and any oversight can have serious consequences. Balancing the need for innovation and cost-effectiveness while ensuring safety can be daunting.

 

Things I find interesting or feel “happy” about this profession are:
