#29 Experience Of A Freelance Website Developer

Profession: Freelance Website Developer

Experience: 3 years

Location: Satna, Madhya Pradesh, India

My Personal Experience:

It is an amazing profession if one loves either designing the front-end of the Website or if one loves to develop the logic behind the working of a website, or both. Website development itself is divided into two parts. Front-end development and Backend development. If you have an interest in designing then you can go for Frontend development. If you are interested in logic then you can go for Backend Development.

The Hard part I feel about this profession as per my experience till now is:

The difficult part of being a freelance Website Developer is the uncertainty of work. Since it’s a kind of Business, At times I would have lots of projects to work on and on the other hand there will be times when I find myself literally sitting idle learning new skills.

Things one might find interesting or feel “happy” about this profession are:

The most amazing part being a freelance Website Developer is we get to learn something new each and every day. Every project comes with a great learning experience and new challenges. Also, earning is also great in the development career if pursued well.

Pros I feel about this profession are :

The best part of being a Freelance Website Developer is the flexibility of timing which we devote. We can even work whole night by being at the comfort of our own. No worries about being at the office or getting ready and worrying about being on time to the office. Work whenever you want and stop if you need a break.

Cons you feel about this profession are :

Sometimes there is a lack of financial stability when you work as a freelancer. You will only get paid when you get projects in hand. When there is no project, you won’t get paid.

Secondly, it is not easy to trust clients until and unless you are getting advance payments. Many times it happens when some client refuses to pay for work done by you or rejects the project. One needs to be ready to face such situations if they are willing to work as a freelancer.

What are your suggestions for those who would like to make a career in this profession?

Website development is worth pursuing if you have a keen interest in coding. But one thing that a website developer must keep in mind is that you will have to learn a lot each and every day. It is not like just master one technology and you are done. With time, you have to keep learning new technologies which trending in the market.
