Profession: Dog Sitter
Experience: 4 Years
I am a dog sitter and I love taking care of dogs. I do have my own 2 dogs at home.
The Hard part i feel about this profession as per my experience till now is :
The hard part about being a dog sitter is to take special care of dogs particularly when they are outside. Especially the dogs that are not trained well make a lot of problem outside. When dogs are old they have problems with their health too.
When they are blind you have to help them with many things. You have to be much more observant on the walks or while they need to walk upstairs. So you have to help and carry them. If the dog is huge it is difficult to carry them around.
What is my personal experience about dog sitting:
I love spending time with dogs. I love to meet many different dogs, getting to know them, see how different breeds have different behaviours, what problems they are facing and learning all about it.
The breed of dog I like the most is the Border Collie. The things I like about them is how they love their owner, how they love to work and appearance, energy, strength, character and speed they have in them. They are up for anything you come up with, they can do many sports and are good at it.
There are different interesting things about dogs in general. Some dogs love having their ears played with, others not so much. The best part is when they do something completely stupid and irrational, and you try to figure out what ‘s is going through their head.
If the dog thinks of you as a friend or an extension to the family but can somehow understand that if you are not taking them away from their home then they will be happier to see you and less concerned when their owners are not around.
Overall I think dog sitting or dog walking is an awesome profession and you can do it on the part-time basis too.
